The purpose of this team is to develop each runner into a better person, not just a better athlete. We believe that personal growth leads to team success, and as teammates, it’s our responsibility to support and uplift one another. Improvement goes beyond running times—it's about becoming more resilient, determined, and supportive individuals.
How Do We Accomplish This?
It starts with mastering our craft: running. There will be moments when the going gets tough—when you’ll need to stop, walk, or jog—but what's most important is that we always keep moving forward. We follow a plan, we execute it to the best of our ability, and we don’t take shortcuts. This sport rewards effort. The more you give, the more you grow.
If you're not committed to making yourself and your team better, then you're in the wrong place. We need positive attitudes, especially on tough days. When you see a teammate struggling, encourage them. Our focus isn’t just on the workouts for this week, but on the long-term goal: doing our best at Sectionals and, hopefully, competing at the State Meet.
When a coach or parent sets the day's workout, you are expected to follow it to the best of your ability. We all have different fitness levels, but the expectation is that you push yourself to complete what’s asked of you. This doesn’t mean quitting when it’s hot, or when you’re tired—it means finding the strength within to push through.
The more you practice perseverance here, the more you'll be able to apply it to other areas of your life—whether it’s school, college, or your future career. Life will constantly challenge you with tasks and goals. Learning to set goals, believe in yourself, maintain a positive attitude, and dig deep to overcome obstacles will prepare you to succeed in anything you do.
