Tips for Seeking Team Sponsorships

When reaching out for sponsorships, focus on local businesses that already support community activities. Great options include:

  • Dentists & Orthodontists
  • Medical offices (except SportsMed or TOC)
  • Chiropractors & Physical Therapy Clinics
  • Realtors
  • Hair Stylists & Salons
  • Pest Control Companies
  • HVAC (Heating & Air Conditioning) Services
  • Auto Body & Repair Shops
  • Locally Owned Restaurants (some national chains may also contribute)
  • Insurance Agents (home, auto, life, etc.)
  • Churches
  • Your own employer or others’ employers (if allowed)

Start small. Smaller, locally owned businesses often have more flexibility than large corporations, which usually have strict policies and long approval processes.
Note: Fleet Feet and Running Lane typically do not sponsor individual schools, as they support the running community in other ways. Please ask a coach before approaching Publix or Food City, as these have special circumstances.

Before you ask:

When you ask:

  • Be polite, professional, and respectful.
  • If they say “no,” thank them sincerely and move on.
  • Remember: a “no” is never personal—it’s just part of the process.

The most important thing? Ask! Every sponsorship we’ve ever received started with someone simply reaching out. Give it your best effort—you may be surprised who says “yes.”
