The Trojan JV Team returned to action Thursday, March 5th for their second Junior Varsity meet of the 2026 outdoor season. With many athletes already gaining confidence from the first meet, the young Trojans continued building momentum and showing the depth of Hazel Green’s rising talent.

Girls Capture Multiple Event Wins

The JV girls once again delivered several standout performances.

Juliette Douglas had one of the biggest days on the track, sweeping both hurdle events with victories in the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. Her strong double highlighted the growing strength of Hazel Green’s hurdle program.

In the field events, Piper Seebeck continued her impressive early-season run by winning the high jump. Piper also contributed valuable points in the throws, teaming up with Addison Wood to lead the Trojan girls in both the discus and shot put as the pair scored in both events.

On the track, the sprint squad was led by Johnnasia Martin in the 100-meter dash, while Kieara Dodson paced the team in the 200-meter dash. In the distance events, Miranda Bush and Avelyn Jephson put together solid performances in both the 800 and 1600 meters, continuing to develop the depth of the girls distance group.

Boys Continue to Develop Across Events

On the boys side, Aiden Crain led the Trojans in the 100-meter dash, while Micah Kentish powered the team in the 200 meters and also placed 8th in the demanding 400-meter dash.

Deshawn Riley once again delivered a strong performance in the hurdles, finishing 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles. Riley also showed his versatility by placing 5th in the long jump.

In the distance races, Grayson Wimberly led the Trojans with solid efforts in both the 1600 and 800 meters, helping anchor the boys distance squad.

The throwing events continued to be a strength as well, with Adonis Billingsley and Griffin Bayne leading the way for Hazel Green in both the discus and shot put.

Building Toward the Future

These highlights represent just a portion of the strong performances from the Trojans’ second JV meet of the outdoor season. With 48 athletes competing across 20 events, the team continues to gain valuable experience and confidence with each meet.

Several athletes are already setting their sights on qualifying for the JV Championships later this spring.

With performances improving week by week, the future of Trojan track and field continues to look bright as the next wave of athletes rises through the ranks.
