The Hazel Green High School Track Team stepped onto the track Monday, March 2nd for their first Junior Varsity meet of the 2026 outdoor season — and for many of these young Trojans, it was their first true taste of outdoor competition this spring.

Competing in the opening meet of the North Alabama Junior High Gold Circuit, Hazel Green brought energy, depth, and plenty of promise to the track.

Girls Lead with Event Wins

The JV girls turned in several standout performances to kick off the season.

Piper Seebeck had a huge day in the field events, soaring to a win in the high jump and adding a second-place finish in the discus — an impressive double that showcased her versatility.

Maci Sedlacek powered her way to victory in the 300-meter hurdles, setting the tone for the hurdle crew early in the year. In the distance events, Emmerson Foreman delivered a strong double, placing 2nd in the 1600 meters and 4th in the 800 — a gritty effort that demonstrated both range and competitiveness.

In the throws, Addison Wood secured a 2nd-place finish in the shot put, adding valuable points and momentum for the field squad.

Boys Battle for the Podium

On the boys side, several Trojans stepped up with podium finishes of their own.

Deshawn Riley opened his outdoor campaign with a 2nd-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles, while Justin Myers battled to 2nd in the 400-meter dash — a demanding event that requires both speed and strength.

In the throws, Adonis Billingsley earned 2nd place in the shot put, continuing the strong presence of Hazel Green athletes in the field events.

Building Toward Championships

These highlights were just a snapshot of a busy and productive day. With 50 athletes competing across 19 events, the Trojans showed impressive depth and enthusiasm in the first North Alabama Junior High Gold Circuit meet of the season. Several athletes are already positioning themselves for qualification to the Junior High Championships later this spring.

It was a strong first step for the JV squad — experience gained, confidence built, and momentum started.

The future is bright, and the next wave of Trojan track stars is officially on the rise.
